Technical assistance for the development of thermal standards in buildings: the aim of the project was to curb space heating and cooling demands of buildings, in order to reduce the corresponding energy consumption (mainly electricity). The main objective of this project was the development of a national standard that improved the performance of buildings.
In developing this standard, the project built on the existing “Guide to Thermal Insulation and Summer Comfort for Buildings in Lebanon”, issued by the Lebanese Standards Institution. The main task of the technical assistance was to transform this guide into a completed and agreed national standard. The consultancy services also included the evaluation of related environmental and socio-economic impacts.
